Gary D. Blankenship

Pastor

Pastor Blankenship received two great things in his life in 1973. First was his new birth by water and Spirit into the kingdom of God; second was his marriage to his lovely wife Janet. Several years later he received the call into the ministry, and after evangelizing for several years, Pastor Blankenship and his wife Janet, started holding services in the New Era Music Convention Hall in Beckley, WV. The year was 1985, the date was September 8th. From that initial group of 8 people the church continued to grow and flourish as Pastor and Sis Blankenship gave themselves completely to the task at hand. In 1991 they moved into the newly constructed facility that would be called Teel Apostolic Church. Pastor Blankenship’s love for God’s Word and the work of the Kingdom has kept him motivated as he travels to various locations speaking at both conferences and youth events. He has a love for the gospel both at home as well as on the mission fields, which he visits and continues to support. In addition to pastoring Teel Apostolic Church he also pastored concurrently a work in Pounding Mill, VA for five years. He also has the oversight of The Apostolics of Abingdon in Abingdon, VA.
He worked in the coal mining industry for twenty-one years after which he founded a local construction company with his son, Gary. He attributes his ability to continue at such a pace to the strength that he draws from his God, as well as his faithful wife, Janet, who is a dedicated Christian and prayer warrior in addition to maintaining a pleasant home for their children and many grandchildren. When not engulfed in the work of God, Pastor Blankenship’s interests include hunting, shooting clays, fishing, ATV riding and just spending quality time with his family and grandchildren.
